Nowra Chemicals diversified into the area of Therapeutic Goods manufacturing and in April 2003 were issued with a TGA licence. Our TGA licence covers products such as head lice preparations, alcohol gels, sunscreens, disinfectants and other topical liquids. All of our Nowchem Pharma production staff have completed training in the good manufacturing code of practice. This ensures our customers receive the agreed standards and practices for the manufacture of their therapeutic goods. |

The Manufacturing Facility
The manufacturing facility currently contains 5 mixing tanks from 100L to 3000L, a 250L cream mixing vessel, two filling machines and an ink jet coder. The main filling line is an Asset Twin Head filler (expanding to four head if required) capable of filling to high level accuracy. The on line capper will cope with bottles, jars and small pumps.

Our semi automatic tube sealer allows us to seal tubes in ten seconds, This machine is able to seal tubes from 15g to 250g.Our ink jet printer is able to print codes and expiry dates on both products and cartons. We also have an automatic labeler that allows us to quickly and accurately label small jars and bottles. The BP grade water plant can produce up to 500L per hour and has a storage tank of 2000L for larger batches.

Going Organic
The newest phase of Nowchem Pharma is the establishment of a new blending and filling area designed for organically certified cosmetics. This area will ensure dedicated storage and manufacturing for this growing market segment. The facility specialises is small runs and batches for the more specialised products in this market. The organics area has been certified by OFC (Organic Food Chain) for this specialty area of manufacturing.
