Over the last twelve weeks managing director, John Lamont has been working tirelessly to raise funds for Cancer Council Australia through the Stars of Nowra 2023 competition.
This local event was created to draw in Nowra business owners and local personalities, Nowra’s Stars, to light up the dance floor with local dance teachers to raise funds for cancer patients and their families.
On Saturday the 27th of May, the fundraiser came to a close with its annual gala night where all of Nowra’s Stars performed on stage at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre. Nowchem employees were able to attend to help cheer on their managing director.
With the support of the Shoalhaven community, Stars of Nowra for 2023 was able to proudly raise $330,044 – a new record for the South Coast community!
John’s own fundraising campaign led to a donation of $42,836 – an astonishing amount that John did not expect to reach. He also took out the Peoples Choice Award, which is a fantastic acheivement.
The funding raised from the evening will be going directly to Cancer Council Australia, as they continue to provide essential support, research, and resources to cancer patients and their families who live within the South Coast region.
